About Our Trust

The Petlad Education Trust stands as a beacon of visionary leadership and commitment to educational advancement in Gujarat. Established in the mid-1940s by Late Rajratna Sheth Shri Ramanlal Keshavlal Parikh, the Trust pioneered higher education in the region by founding Shri R.K. Parikh Arts & Science College, the first institution of its kind between Baroda and Ahmedabad. In 1970, the Trust extended its noble mission by establishing the Smt. S. I. Patel Ipcowala College of Education, with the generous support and blessings of Sheth Shree Amrutlal Ramanlal Parikh, to promote quality teacher education in rural areas. A landmark in the college’s journey came in 1997 with the construction of Ipcowala Bhavan, made possible through the generous donation of Charotar Ratna Sheth Shree Indubhai Maganbhai Patel. As a tribute, the college was named in honor of Mrs. Shardaben Indubhai Patel Ipcowala. Rooted in service and inspired by excellence, the Trust has always upheld values of integrity, academic growth, and societal upliftment. Even during challenging financial times, such as between 1959–62, the Trust’s commitment never wavered—with staff voluntarily supporting the mission by accepting salary reductions. Today, the Petlad Education Trust continues to play a pivotal role in institutional governance, infrastructure development, and strategic planning. It envisions a future where values, knowledge, and national service go hand in hand, nurturing generations of educators who transform society with wisdom and purpose.
