Welcome to our College
Rooted in legacy, driven by vision… Established in 1970 with the generous support of Late Rajratna Sheth Shree Ramanlal Keshavlal Parikh and with the noble consent of Sheth Shree Amrutlal Ramanlal Parikh, Smt. S. I. Patel Ipcowala College of Education has been a beacon of teacher education in Gujarat. The college’s landmark transformation came in 1997, with the creation of Ipcowala Bhavan, made possible through the immense contribution of Charotar Ratna Sheth Shree Indubhai Maganbhai Patel. As a tribute to his beloved wife, the college was graciously named after Mrs. Shardaben Indubhai Patel. Today, we carry this legacy forward with pride and purpose, empowering future educators in a dynamic, value-based academic environment. Welcome to a place where tradition meets innovation — a college that not only teaches but inspires.
Since its inception, Smt. S. I. Patel Ipcowala College of Education has remained committed to its three-fold objective: providing pre-service teacher training, conducting in-service programs for educators and school administrators, and fostering educational research and documentation. Today, the college continues to pursue its mission of nurturing motivated, intellectually competent, morally upright, socially responsible, professionally committed, and spiritually inspired educators — true agents of positive social transformation.
The college currently admits 50 students along with 5 seats of EWS students annually to its two-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme, following the revised NCTE curriculum framework. It is a co-educational, grant-in-aid institution with permanent recognition from the Government of Gujarat, NCTE approval, and UGC registration under Sections 2(f) and 12(B). The college maintains permanent affiliation with Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar, one of the leading universities in Gujarat.
Further expanding its reach, the college also serves as a study centre for the B.Ed. (Distance Mode) Programme offered by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU), accommodating an additional 50(+5 EWS) students annually from across Gujarat. Through a blend of tradition and innovation, the institution continues to play a vital role in advancing quality teacher education.
